Two Die on Virus Infected Carnival Liberty

Carnival has confirmed that two men died on the recent Carnival Liberty trans-Atlantic cruise that was hit with a norovirus outbreak. Carnival did not identify the men. One was not a US citizen and his body was returned home during the cruise. The other man was identified by family members as 76 year-old David Lee Fitzgerald of Tarpon Springs, Florida.
Carnival said neither death was related to the virus, which had infected several guests before they boarded Nov. 3 in Rome and then spread to 536 guests and 143 crew members. "It is the opinion of our medical professionals that heart-related issues were the primary factors in both deaths," de la Cruz said in an e-mail statement.

Please let me tell you what happened on our LAST cruise with Carnival. We sailed out of Rome Nov 3rd on the Carnival Liberty for the transatlantic back to Florida. I was real excited about going on this 16 day cruise, this was our 4th cruise with Carnival, and two were fairly good. Needless to say, on around the 9th I was hit with the virus that had hit about 700 others (those that reported there were many more) so, we missed two ports to our disappointment.
We will not be cruising any more with Carnival, so you can take us off your list. It was not because of the virus that has made up our minds it was the food. The food was terrible, the beef was defiantly a poor cut. It certainly was not top choice. You could not cut, not less chew, the prime rib or the filet mignon. The chicken was cooked beyond juiciness. The duck was greasy and unable to slice, no less eat. All the soups, that I had ordered, were watered down beyond tastefulness. Have you ever had yellow broccoli soup? Have you ever had lobster bisque broth. Even the hotdogs were greasy.
We enjoyed most of the entertainment that Carnival used to offer, however this cruise was basically audience participation. We don't find it entertaining to laugh at fellow passengers.
The prices of drinks of duty free liquor, which we always enjoyed were beyond tasteful. You really don't mind paying the price, if the drink is a good drink. I have never before seen such small glasses on a cruise ship. This trip was really trying to take every last dime.
So, again I say, you can take us off you list, we will not be sailing with Carnival again. That was our 12 cruise, the fourth and last Carnival.

Just got back from the Carnival Liberty 8 day. Will not go with Carnival again as the food was very bad. Entertainment was fine, staff seemed overworked. Have been on 5 other cruises - Holland America best so far. Four out of 5 of us got sick on this one. It is just not up to par.
